Glass is collected from the green bins in public places. It is collected as and when they fill up, approximately once every 2–3 weeks.
Bulky waste A skip placed next to the organic waste bin

- Bathroom facilities (toilet, washbasin, bath)

It is collected exclusively one day before the scheduled collection date (on Thursday evening) alongside the standard mixed waste bins.

Christmas trees Next to the organic waste bins
- Live coniferous trees (spruce, fir, pine)
- Artificial Christmas trees — available all year round at the recycling centre
- Christmas trees with decorations, fairy lights, ribbons and tinsel
Collection: 6 January – 3 February 2026, once a week. Please place your Christmas trees next to the organic waste bins in a visible and accessible place.

Special collections
Christmas trees
Place unadorned Christmas trees next to the bins for mixed household waste. The trees must be placed in a visible and accessible location for waste collection staff.
Spring clean-up: ‘For a more beautiful city’
Large-capacity containers in the Rakytovce area (including Radvaň, Kráľová, Pršianska terasa, Iliaš, Kremnička and Kostiviarska). The town will publish the exact locations of the containers on banskabystrica.sk before the event.
Mobile collection of hazardous waste
The council publishes the dates for the spring and autumn collections in advance on banskabystrica.sk and in the Radničné noviny newspaper. Waste can be handed in all year round at the Detox s.r.o. facility, Zvolenská cesta 139.
