The Rakytovce Citizens’ Council, in collaboration with the City of Banská Bystrica, invites you to the traditional Shrovetide pig-slaughtering festival, which will take place on Saturday 31 January 2026 at the RAKBAR restaurant in Rakytovce.
The Shrovetide pig-slaughtering festival is one of the most popular events of the year in Rakytovce — it brings together neighbours, families and locals alike. Traditional recipes, the aroma of fresh produce and good music create a genuine village atmosphere, which our district has been nurturing for many years.
Programme
10:00 – 12:00 — Preparation of pig-slaughtering products (liver sausages, sausages, brawn, cabbage soup)
from 12:00 — Tasting of the products, refreshments, delicious food and entertainment
Throughout the afternoon — the Zacharovci Folk Band from Poník will be playing music for dancing and listening
